Omar ibn al-Khattab was born in Mecca in the year 584 CE. He was the son of al-Khattab, a respected leader in the Quraish tribe. As a young man, Omar was known for his intelligence, strength, and bravery. He was a skilled warrior and was often called upon to mediate disputes between the different tribes in Mecca.
